My friends and I recently have discovered a new, inexpensive Peking duck restaurant. This little restaurant has a very nice duck smoky smell when we just got in, which made us really hungry. It’s a very cosy place with some pretty kites hanging on the ceiling.

As the Chinese saying goes “our eye is always bigger than our stomach”, my friend and I ordered a whole duck to share. The roast duck was delicious, the skin crispy, the meat very tender with a delicious fruity wood taste. The sauce was made just right, not too sweet and not too salty, and the bread was good too. Dipping the duck skin into sugar, it’s like eating savory candy, it melts in your mouth without chewing it, rich but not very greasy. We can tell they pay attention to details, the duck was served on a heated wooden box to keep the duck warm.
